‘Oh thanks Alexis’…
So I haven’t really ‘blogged’ properly, mainly because I don’t think of myself as a writer but I hear so many people ask if I have a blog so here it is! For my first intentional blog, I thought it’d be good to introduce myself…
Imagine walking into a room full of people and there’s a chatty, 30 something brunette smiling at you holding two cups of hot coffee. She hands you one whilst introducing herself… Here we go.
I’m Alexis, I live in Wales with my fiancé Pete, identical twin girls who are almost three (going on thirteen!) Milena and Phoebe, and our rabbits Bubba and Rory. As well as running my business Mila and Pheebs, I also work part time as an Accounts Manager so yep – life is pretty busy. I love it like that way though, I’m really lucky to be able to be that busy!
I’ve always loved stationery, let me take you back.
Remember those school trips where at the end of the rollercoaster or big event they entice the children to spend their pocket money in the gift shop full of keyrings, toys and magnets? Well I absolutely did spend my money in the gift shop but not on myself. I would buy my family a pencil in their favourite colour (I know.. awww..). I would buy my Dad a red pencil, a yellow one for my Mum and a blue one for my brother (despite the fact he was seven years younger than me and could barely talk let alone require a pencil but I couldn’t leave him out). The pencil always had the name of the place printed on it, Bristol Zoo comes to mind, which by the way was the first place I found my name printed on a badge! They always had Alex but never Alexis. My parents kitchen drawer was always full of these types of pencils and each time I brought another one home my Mum would say, ‘Oh thanks Alexis’ with a half smile, half grimace. I now know that’s because my Mum would just have rathered me bring the money home!
Anyway, skip two decades, a career in Corporate Banking, a qualification or two, IVF, premature twins, maternity leave and BANG! Here we are.
I’m reviving my passion for cute, bright, fun stationery, crafts and activities except this time I’m spreading the joy! I want to spread this joy as far and wide as I can so if you have any children who sound just like the seven year old me, check out our subscriptions because I think they may just like them 🙂
